Frances B. Houston

Frances B Houston is a graduate student at Liberty University, completing a Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree. She is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC1) and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC). Frances also completed an undergraduate and Master of Divinity at Boston University. Frances currently works at Lifeline and has experience with medication-assisted treatment for substance use disorders, where she helps individuals through the process of recovery from substance use and related anxiety and mood disturbance. This work stirs the power of hope and energizes self-investment for the challenging and rewarding work of personal change and growth, enabling the movement toward a whole functioning person.

Frances's faith has influenced her exploration of additional areas of clinical interest, including integrating spirituality and counseling to enhance better mental health outcomes. Her goal is to help individuals find health and wellness through a renewal of the mind, utilizing the theoretical perspective of cognitive therapy. With a belief that hope creates an environment for change, Frances works to encourage sustained growth and wellness of the individuals she serves.

Frances enjoys cooking, walking, music, and spending time with her spouse, children, and grandchildren.
