Billing Manager

Laurie Smith helps keep things running smoothly behind the scenes at The Well. As Billing Manager, she oversees billing operations and makes sure clients and providers alike have the support and information they need. Having been part of The Well since 2016, she is dedicated to making the financial side of care feel clear, approachable and stress-free.

Her passion for helping others and supporting the meaningful work being done at The Well is what drew her to this role. She enjoys connecting with people, answering their questions, and turning confusing billing and insurance topics into something easy to understand.

In her role, Laurie manages the full scope of medical billing, including insurance claims, payments, and account questions. She helps clinicians handle billing processes with confidence and helps clients understand their benefits and statements. She takes pride in making sure everyone feels informed and supported, so the focus can stay on care.

Laurie is a Certified Professional Biller (CPB) through the American Academy of Professional Codes (AAPC) and brings more than a decade of experience in behavioral health administration, billing, and client support at The Well.

Laurie is an Enneagram 9 and in her free time you'll find her enjoying time with her husband and twins, trying her hardest to learn to golf, and walking her beloved French Bulldog, Gus.
