Courtney Cloonan

Courtney recently joined The Well as a psychotherapist. She has worked in non-profit, clinical, and educational settings with clients of all ages throughout the country and in Canada. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Louisville in Kentucky, where she specialized in school social work.

Courtney has a passion for working with children and adolescents presenting with behavioral and developmental disorders. She also has experience working with adults and families struggling with mental health concerns. Courtney’s therapeutic style includes a range of evidence-based interventions and core frameworks including DBT, CBT, ABA, SFBT, trauma-informed therapy and expressive play and art therapy. Courtney takes a whole-person approach to psychotherapy, integrating these modalities to empower each individual to actively recognize their inherent strengths, thought and behavior patterns, resources, and challenges. She strives to create a safe, supportive environment and therapeutic relationship through empathy, trust, kindness, and humor. All of which aim to promote the client’s motivation in achieving their goals and improving overall well-being.

When not working Courtney enjoys spending time with her family, listening to music, patio dining by the sea, and exploring new destinations both near and far.

Courtney is excited to support the vision and mission of The Well and further cultivate and support the needs of community members through individual and group therapy.
