This is a unique, arts-based program specifically designed to meet the needs of children (grades 4-6) who experience anxiety.   Creativity has the ability to decrease stress, help with problem solving, increase self-esteem, and build community. Using art as a means of self-expression is imperative in giving voice to experiences that words cannot explain.  The goal of this program is to help prevent the negative outcomes associated with anxiety before the stigma of mental illness sets in. In this program, kids will be invited into a creative, safe and fun environment where they can learn and practice coping skills, build resilience, create friendships, and strengthen their developing sense of self. By exposing children to sensory-based art making, they will experience increased self-awareness, which will allow them to identify techniques unique to their own experiences.  These techniques can then become easily integrated into their daily habits.

Class will include: drawing | painting | paper marbling | story | mindfulness | yoga.

Class size will be limited to 10 participants.
Must register to secure a spot.
